Why We Exist
Ghana is one of the youngest countries in the world, and even though the world has never had greater opportunities and wealth as today, young people are disproportionately affected by Ghana’s problems such as poverty, poor health and lack of economic opportunities. EKK Charity Foundation traces its roots and mission to 2020, when its founder and Director, Evans Kwafo was challenged by immediate unpleasant circumstances surrounding him to serve his country in the cause of enhanced livelihood by reaching out to underserved people and communities in Ghana. From that inspiration grew a dream devoted to prosperity and friendship. Evans started out making grants in supporting people with health and economic problems.
He eventually expanded the scope of his giving to include education and start-up development. Even though a significant part of his grant making efforts comes from his direct resources, some benevolent people have surprised him with pledges, effectively doubling the foundation’s annual grantmaking and potential impact. Through their service, EKK Charity Foundation volunteers return to our offices after each outreach as global citizens with new perspectives and heightened sense of empathy for the wellbeing of every person they serve. They provide leadership, joy and community development that give us a sense of satisfaction and service.
