Supporting Street Children: EKK’s COVID-19 Response
In response to the hardships brought by the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, EKK Charity Foundation stepped up to support some of Kumasi’s most vulnerable residents – the homeless and street children. Recognizing the challenges faced by these groups during the lockdown, the foundation launched a food distribution initiative to ensure they received the necessary nourishment and care.
Throughout the lockdown period, EKK Charity Foundation volunteers worked tirelessly to provide freshly prepared meals and essential supplies to those in need. This outreach offered a lifeline to many who faced limited access to food and shelter due to the restrictions in place. By distributing meals in key locations across Kumasi, the foundation brought much-needed relief and compassion to hundreds of homeless individuals and children living on the streets.
Foundation representatives highlighted the importance of unity and community support in times of crisis. They also noted that the foundation’s efforts were fueled by a desire to ensure that no one was left behind, especially during such challenging times. The initiative not only addressed immediate needs but also sent a powerful message of hope and solidarity to those affected by the pandemic.
The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude, with many calling the foundation’s support a blessing during one of the hardest periods of their lives. EKK Charity Foundation continues to serve as a beacon of compassion, committed to uplifting communities and offering aid where it is most needed. Through their efforts, they have helped bring comfort and stability to those hit hardest by the pandemic.
